Explore Grandfather Mountain after hours with your own personal guides. You’ll discover some of the park’s nighttime wonders, while stopping at its most significant sites. Watch a stunning Grandfather sunset, and experience the mountain as never before!
New in 2024, we are offering two versions of Grandfather by Night – an adventurous version and a less adventurous version. These adventurous events include a short hike after sunset where participants can search for salamanders, flying squirrels, owls, fireflies, and more!
Limited to 24 participants - registration opens 1 month in advance.
Please note:
- The hiking portion of the event is not wheelchair accessible.
- The August 23 and September 6 events will begin at 7:30 pm.
